About Us
RTO8 exists to support a competitive and sustainable regional tourism industry, attract visitors, support experience development and generate economic activity . Our goal is to ensure that Kawarthas Northumberland will be a destination that drives its visitor economy with balanced and purposeful year-round visitation that meets our current and future capacity and community development needs.
RTO8 works with the existing tourism offices in Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, the City of Peterborough and the County of Peterborough who are each responsible for product development and marketing to tourism consumers within their areas.
These offices are the lead agencies for local tourism within each of the four sub-regions of Kawarthas Northumberland. Each works in partnership with tourism operators to market and develop their respective sub-regions and provides strategic and practical support to develop and sustain our region.
