About Us
“The Aron” is a beloved theatre in Campbellford, Ontario. It was opened as a purpose-built cinema on November 15, 1947. Over the decades, people have been enjoying films, concerts and other social events at the theatre. On June 30, 2010, the Aron Theatre Co-operative was incorporated, and a year later, it purchased the business.
As a co-operative, we are a democratic organization, owned and controlled by our members. Membership is $20 a year for individuals and $40 a year for families. An elected board of directors, staff and volunteers operate the theatre on behalf of all the members and the community.
The not-for-profit co-op operates with a triple bottom line, ensuring financial viability, community responsibility, and environmental stewardship. Since purchasing the theatre, we have invested over $400,000 to install exceptional digital projection and sound, new seats, theatre insulation, new washrooms, accessible doors, a green roof, and new HVAC systems.
Visit our website to see our current movie listings and special events, and pre-purchase tickets. Regular movie show times are Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Doors open 30 minutes before show times.
