About Us

Workforce Development Board (WDB) is a not-for-profit organization located in Peterborough and serving Northumberland, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton. Founded in 1996, WDB is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development to provide labour market information, coordinate employment and training services, and engage employer communities.

Our mission is to deliver responsive workforce development solutions to meet local labour market needs through knowledge, resources, and partnerships. Our Vision is a resilient community of partners empowered by labour market information to support and respond to the workforce needs of today, tomorrow, and beyond.

OUR VALUES
Innovative: We approach every challenge with creativity, integrity, and resourcefulness. We are continuously adapting to meet the changing needs of the labour market in unique and effective ways.

Informative: We equip all stakeholders with the resources, analysis, and tools needed to make strategic and data-driven decisions.

Collaborative: We work collaboratively with our stakeholders, and with one another, towards a common goal of addressing labour market needs.

Responsive: We are open to new approaches and respond to the needs of our community members.
